Coffee Jello

I am so enamored with this recipe. This dessert is so simple and is elegant in its simplicity. It should have a more glamorous name. It has a grown up coffee flavor and it is most certainly for adults when Kahlua is added. The quality of the coffee you use will affect the flavor of this, so use a nice grind, something you'd drink at breakfast or dinner.

I used whipped cream for a topping and thought it was perfect, but you could gild the lily and add caramel or chocolate sauce.

With summer coming, this would make an ideal, make ahead, no baking involved, cool and refreshing dessert.

  1. I have caffeine issues,so I don't drink coffee, however, this is SUCH a clever idea. What a great recipe for a luncheon or bridal shower, etc.

  5. Ladies, I cannot tell you how much caffeine I have consumed today because of this. I think next time I'm going to have to make this with decaffeinated coffee!

Coleen, I was thinking about what you said, about this being good for a shower or luncheon. Great idea! I collect mismatched antique cups and saucers (well some of them are not so antique perhaps, just pretty) and what a terrific way to use them. Thanks for the great idea!

  15. I love coffee jello too! I usually make it in an 8" by 8" pan & cut it into squares...parfaiting it w/ caramel syrup & whipped cream but I am soooo loving your presentation of it in a coffee cup. Why didn't I think of that? Have you ever tried this recipe from allrecipes....it's pretty good too. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Coffee-Lovers-Dessert/Detail.aspx

Wanted to thank you for your sympathies on Gizzy. I will always miss him but Rudy sures helps ease the pain...I'm glad I didn't delay in getting him.
